Day 0

Arrival in the Loire Valley

Hop in the TGV (high-speed train) and travel from Paris, where you landed, to the city of Tours, right in the center of the Loire Valley. From the train station, a private bus shuttle will take you to a memorable first night accommodation. Take some time to settle in and meet the rest of the clan at the welcome dinner.

Day 1

Castles of the Loire Valley

Get acquainted with your bike while following the Loire River at a leisurely pace. Visit the castle of Chambord, a Renaissance jewel, and enjoy a boat ride under the arched bridge of the stunning castle of Chenonceau. You’ll then go through the historic city of Azay-le-Rideau and stop for the night in vineyard-surrounded Chinon.

The fairy tale castle of Chenonceau spans the Cher river.
Day 2

Following the river

Ride along the Loire river on the beautiful levee road. Cross authentic riverside stone villages and stop for lunch at the foot of the imposing fortifications of Angers’ castle. Reach Nantes, the historical capital of Brittany, mid-afternoon and take a peek at its artistic industrial workshops inspired by Jules Verne.

The Elephant, a symbol of the city of Nantes, France.
Day 3

The gateway to Brittany

After stopping in Saint-Nazaire’s shipyard for a fascinating and unique visit, you’ll zip through the 4,200-acre salt marshes of Guérande. Explore the narrow streets of the picturesque medieval town of Rochefort-en-Terre and enjoy some beautiful backroad riding in the afternoon. At the end of the day, unwind with a drink watching boats enter the port of 2,000 years-old Vannes.

Vannes, a fascinating city on the Gulf of Morbihan, France.
Day 4

Myths and legends of Carnac

Uncover the mysteries behind the megaliths alignments dating back 5,000 years in Carnac. Then, walk in the footsteps of post-impressionist painter Paul Gauguin in the colorful artists-filled village of Pont-Aven. The 13th-century walled town of Concarneau will immerse you in medieval atmosphere. At the end of the day, park your bike in the center of the thriving city of Quimper, which will be our base camp for 2 nights.

Day 5

Taking it easy in Quimper

The clan needs a rest. You can either take part in the Totem Poker Run, our exclusive scavenger hunt, scouting the area and discovering the local landmarks at your own pace. Day 6

Crossing the Finistère from South to North

Leave Quimper behind and step into a land of legends and Celtic myths riding towards western Brittany’s ancient mountain range, the Monts d’Arrée. Venture into the fairytale forest of Huelgoat and descend into the unnervingly narrow Devil’s Grotto, if you dare. Later on, ride along one of Brittany’s most amazing stretches of coastline, the Pink Granite Coast, and check out its iconic lighthouse, Men Ruz.

Day 7

Setting course towards the city of pirates

Watch the early-morning light play on the  facade of the 13th-century Beauport Abbaye and indulge in oyster tasting on the beach before riding by the sea towards the historic port city of Saint-Malo. There, learn everything about its rich history of piracy, the extensive damage it sustained during WWII, its walled city full of privateers’ dwellings and cobblestone streets.

Day 8

Raid on Mont-Saint-Michel

Experience one of France’s most emblematic locations, a rocky outcrop rising from the sea, bristling with medieval constructions and topped by a towering abbey. Be prepared to be catapulted back to the Middle Ages while wandering its narrow alleys and parapet walks. This is a place for contemplation.

The Mont-Saint-Michel, France.
Day 9

Remembering D-Day’s heroes

Ride along the sites of the largest seaborne invasion in history: Utah Beach, Sainte-Mère-Église, Pointe du Hoc, where many fought and lost their lives for freedom. Keep on riding by the sea and honor the fallen of Operation Overlord while visiting the Normandy American Cemetery and the Longues-sur-Mer battery.
