With an average of 115 miles and around 4 hours on the bike per day, the Normandy Legends Tour goes at a relaxed pace. In the morning, the start time is rarely scheduled before 9 am. The itinerary is fairly easy, the roads taken are wide and paved all the way.

Comfort

In terms of accommodations, we only select premium 3* or 4* boutique hotels & authentic, comfortable Bed & Breakfasts. For the best riding experience possible, our support vehicle will carry your luggage, which will be available to you at every break during the day.

Cultural immersion

Normandy and Brittany are culturally unique regions with strong regional identities. Through the different visits and activities included in the tour, you will become to know and love the area, and get acquainted with the locals.

Scenery

The northwestern part of France might not be as hilly as the southeast, but it certainly is not lacking in typical landscapes and gorgeous panoramas. On the agenda: the winding backroads of the Alpes Mancelles, the low rolling hills of the Pays d'Auge, and many seaside roads along the coasts of Cotentin and Calvados.

Description

Follow the clan on its solemn pilgrimage to one of France's most iconic regions and set foot on a history-filled, spectacular territory. Honor the fallen as you ride alongside the long strips of white sand where brave men once changed the course of history.

Scout out the half-timbered villages of the Pays d'Auge, cruise along the rolling green hills of the Alpes Mancelles, and explore the dramatic coastal landscapes of the Cotentin peninsula.

Climb the many stone steps to the top of the island monastery of Mont-Saint-Michel for a unique medieval immersion and, on your way back, pay tribute to the God of Speed in the racetrack city of Le Mans.

Day 0

Arrival in Le Mans

Hop in the TGV (high-speed train) and travel from Paris, where you landed, to the city of Le Mans, one of the gateways to Normandy. Take some time to settle in, go for a stroll in the city's well-preserved medieval district, and meet the rest of the clan at the welcome dinner.

Day 1

Beautiful Alpes Mancelles

Get familiar with your bike as you cruise along the rolling wooded hills of the Alpes Mancelles, looking for the best panoramas on its rocky cliffs and steep river valleys. Head west towards Brittany and stop for the night in Rennes, its vibrant capital, for cultural immersion in its lively medieval quarter.

Day 2

Raid on Mont Saint-Michel

Experience one of France’s most emblematic locations, a rocky outcrop rising from the sea, bristling with medieval constructions and topped by a towering abbey. Be prepared to be catapulted back to the Middle Ages while wandering its narrow alleys and parapet walks. This is a place for contemplation.

Day 3

The Cotentin coastline run

From Granville, ride north towards the unspoiled stretches of rocky coastline of the northwest corner of the peninsula and explore its many bays and villages. Scout out the concrete remains of the Caqueret battery, and climb the 250-feet, still active, Gatteville lighthouse for an impressive view over the Channel and the shoreline.

Day 4

Remembering D-Day's heroes

Ride along the sites of the largest seaborne invasion in history: Utah Beach, Sainte-Mère-Église, Pointe du Hoc, where many fought and lost their lives for freedom. Keep on riding by the sea and honor the fallen of Operation Overlord while visiting the Normandy American Cemetery and the Longues-sur-Mer battery. Day 5

The rolling hills of Pays d'Auge

Spend the morning at your own pace in the historic center of Bayeux, an attractive town full of 13th-century buildings and home to the world-famous embroidery, the Bayeux Tapestry. After lunch, get ready for some good ol’ motorcycle fun on the winding roads of the Pays d'Auge.

Day 6

Taking it easy in Honfleur

The clan needs a rest. You can either take part in the Totem Poker Run, our exclusive scavenger hunt, scouting the area and discovering the local landmarks at your own pace. Or take a day off the bike and explore Normandy's most charming port town, from famous-amongst-painters Vieux Bassin to the numerous excellent shops and museums of the Old Town.

Day 7

Legends of Le Mans

In the morning, take on the rolling hills and pastoral villages of Calvados, and stop in Livarot to learn more about traditional cheesemaking and a tasting of the local products. When you get to Le Mans, pretend to be Steve McQueen as you ride on actual portions of the 24 Hours’ circuit, the famous endurance sports car race. Reach Tours at the end of the afternoon, and share a festive dinner in the city’s oldest square.

Day 8

Back to Paris

It’s time for the clan to split and for every brave to pursue his own quest. A comfortable TGV takes you back to Paris or straight to the airport, depending on your travel plans.
